Paul Simon Restages "Songs From The Capeman" at the BAM Harvey Theater in Brooklyn-April 1, 2008

beautiful theater, great sound, amazing performers. It was pouring outside but it didn't matter-we were listening to fantastic music. Paul Simon, Little Anthony and the Imperials, Oscar Hernandez,Claudette Sierra, Kelli Sae, Danny Rivera, Obie Bermudez, Frankie Negron and many, many more. The highlight for me was seeing Steve Conte of the Conte Brothers. I first photographed Steve and John Conte almost 20 years ago when they were in a band called Company of Wolves. I put together a 16 month calendar of my photographs called "It's Only Rock and Roll: New Jersey Musicians" to raise money for the homeless in NJ in 1999 (along with a photo exhibit of the same name) and Steve and John's mother, the amazing Jazz singer Rosemary Conte lived about a mile from me. Steve and John were great to spend a day with and whenver they played anywhere in NJ or NYC, I would pick up Rosemary and we would drive to see them. After all these years wondering what happened with Steve's career, it was great to see him perform again and see how far he has gone.
