NY Premiere of "Shine a Light" starring the Rolling Stones-March 30, 2008

what "should" have been a great premiere was one of the worst ones we have had in NYC. We were at the Ziegfield Theater under a massive tent that went from the theater down to 6th Avenue. Pretty decent space for the still photographers. All of the Rolling Stones show up-Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ron Wood and Charlie Watts and we are told they will pose together as a group and then with Director Martin Scorsese. Wonderful. Except the usual happens. The publicity people are ALL OVER the carpet, COMPLETELY blocking the still photographers from DOING THEIR JOBS! To top it all off, when they move slightly out of the way, they bent down a little bit but had their point and shoot digital cameras way up in the air.
I just don't understand the stupidity of these people. The "A" list shooters were in the same boat as everyone else. This is what the Paramount executives paid huge money for tonight.
We are then told to wait around 20 minutes after the start of the movie because jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony will be walking to red carpet. Once again, pretty much the same thing although they posed a little bit longer.
Other guests included Carla Gugino ("Night at the Museum"), singer Vanessa Carlton, Gina Gershon and Kelly Lynch

Actress and Academy Award Winner Helen Mirren poses at a signing for her new book 'In the Frame: My Life in Words and Pictures'-March 28, 2008

I'm back!
I have been out with the dreaded flu that has been going around NYC. I thought I was going to make it through the winter without getting sick, but no such luck.
I am far from being 100% perfect, but actress and Academy Award Winner Helen Mirren was at the 5th Avenue Barnes and Noble signing her book. LOTS of press, TONS of fans. It was nice to see how many came out for her on this weird rainy then sunny then rainy day.
Ms. Mirren is beautiful, classy and very talented. It's not everyone that would have made me head out today since I am not feeling as well as I should, but it was worth the trip for her.

Steven Strait, star from the upcoming epic adventure "10,000 B.C." unveils original costumes at Planet Hollywood-March 3, 2008

I wouldn't have minded one bit to see what he looked like wearing one of these costumes. I guess I will have to wait until Friday to see the movie.
